Eagle Lamp

Eagle Lamp

  • files/download_2_1.webp

Honestly, for the price I figured it would show up looking like some cheap plastic gas-station eagle and I was already ready to send it back. Nope. It is heavier than I expected, the paint is clean, and it looks like something you would pay a lot more for. Real glad I took the chance on it.

I almost did not order because I thought the light would be dim, or one of those cheap flickery bulbs. It is not. You flip it on and the whole eagle glows red, white, and blue, bright enough that my husband can see it from his chair clear across the room. He turns it on every night now.

Being straight with you, I worried this was one of those here-today-gone-tomorrow websites and I would never see my eagle or my money. It came in about a week with tracking the whole way. And you can tell a person painted this one, because mine has its own little touches to it. No regrets at all.

Meet The Man Who Makes Them

My grandpa Hank served this country for 22 years. When he came home and retired, he needed something to keep his hands busy, so he started handmaking eagles in his garage.

Each one starts as a plain cast that Hank paints himself — the golden head, the blue chest with its white stars, and the red and white stripes running down every feather. Then he sets the eagle on a solid rock base and fits a small light inside.

Some people online have called his eagles "tacky" and told him nobody cares about an old man's hobby. Every order tells him they are wrong. You are not buying from a faceless warehouse. You are buying a lamp an American veteran made with his own two hands, and giving one heck of an answer to the folks who said he should quit.

It Lights Up The Whole Room

This is not a statue that just sits there. Flip the little switch and the eagle glows from the inside — a soft, steady light in red, white, and blue that you can see from across the room. It looks good in the daytime and even better once the sun goes down. Put it on a mantel, a desk, a bookshelf, or a windowsill where the neighbors can see it.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    help

Is It Worth The Price, And What Do I Get?

You get one hand-cast, hand-painted eagle lamp on a solid rock base, ready to plug in and switch on right out of the box. It is heavier and far better made than the thin plastic eagles you see at the gas station, and it is one of the only ones you can find that actually lights up. For a handmade piece that lasts for years and comes back out every Fourth of July, most folks say it pays for itself the first time they turn it on.

    help

How Does It Light Up, And Is It Bright?

A light is built into the base. Flip the switch on the cord and the whole eagle glows red, white, and blue from the inside. This is not a dim, flickery bulb. It is bright enough to see from clear across the room and looks even better once the sun goes down. It plugs into any wall outlet with the cord in the box, so you never buy batteries.

    help

Is It Handmade, Or Just Another Factory Eagle?

Every eagle is cast and painted by hand by Hank, a retired veteran, in his home workshop. Because he makes them one at a time, yours will have small touches no factory eagle has, and no two are ever exactly alike. Little differences from one to the next are the mark of a handmade piece, not a flaw.

    help

Will It Break Or Feel Cheap?

No. The body is solid cast resin, not thin hollow plastic, so it has a good weight in your hands and sits sturdy on a shelf. It is built to come out year after year and hold up to being packed away and set back out each season.

    help

What If I Don't Love It, Or It Shows Up Damaged?

You are covered by our 90-day money-back guarantee, so you can order with nothing to lose. Every eagle is wrapped with care for the trip. If yours arrives damaged, send us a photo and we will make it right with a replacement or a full refund. No fuss.

Does It Make A Good Gift?

It is one of the easiest gifts you can give a veteran, a dad, a grandpa, or anyone who loves this country. It arrives ready to display, and turning it on for the first time gets a smile every time.

    • It Showed Up Exactly Like the Video

I bought this for my husband, who did two tours in Vietnam. When it came he just sat and looked at it for the longest time, then plugged it in and grinned like a boy. The colors light up the whole living room. Thank you, Hank.

      Brenda K. — Ohio

    • Solid, Clean, And Lights Up Bright

I am a veteran myself and I do not buy much off the internet. Then I saw this old boy making them in his garage and had to have one. It is solid, the paint is clean, and it lights up bright. Sits right on my desk now.

      Roy T. — Texas

    • Prettier In Person

Prettier in person than in the videos. I put mine in the front window for the Fourth and three neighbors have already asked me where I got it. Feels good knowing one man made it by hand.

      Diane M. — retired schoolteacher

    • Bought One For Me And One For My Brother

Bought one for me and one for my brother. We both served. The 250th only comes once, and I wanted something to mark it. The quality is better than I expected for the price.

      Gary P. — Florida

    • It Actually Works ❤️

Ignore the folks calling these tacky. It is a good-looking eagle, handmade by a man who earned the right to make it. Mine is staying on the mantel.

Walt R. — grandfather of six
